Private Sunset Dolphin Tour Pula with BBQ Dinner, Drinks & Swim Stop
There is a particular hour on the Adriatic when the heat softens, the sea flattens and the whole coast turns gold. A private sunset dolphin tour in Pula is built around exactly that hour. For three unhurried evening hours the boat belongs to your group alone, so you can watch for dolphins, slip into the sea for a last swim, and eat a BBQ dinner on deck while the sun goes down - with no strangers and no fixed script.
A Private Sunset Cruise from Pula
This is a fully private evening charter, not a shared seat on a big dinner boat. You leave the Pula waterfront in the late afternoon, just as the light begins to change, and cruise gently along the coast toward the Brijuni archipelago. With up to 12 guests on board and the whole boat reserved for you, the evening stays calm, personal and completely relaxed - the opposite of a crowded party cruise.
Dolphin Watching in the Golden Hour
The waters around the Brijuni Islands are one of the best places near Pula to see wild dolphins, and the evening is when they are most often spotted. As the boat drifts and cruises, everyone keeps an eye on the surface for the tell-tale roll of a fin. Sightings are never guaranteed - these are wild animals - but the calm evening sea and the low light give you a genuine chance, and the search itself, gliding along a glassy coast at dusk, is part of the magic.
A Golden-Hour Swim Stop
On the way, the skipper anchors in a sheltered bay for a swim in the warm evening water. Swimming as the sun drops is one of those simple Adriatic pleasures that stays with you - the sea is calm, the crowds have gone, and the light on the water is extraordinary. Snorkeling gear and a SUP are on board if you want them, or you can simply float and watch the sky change colour.
BBQ Dinner and Drinks on Board
As the light fades the skipper fires up the on-board BBQ and dinner is grilled fresh at sea. You eat on deck, drinks in hand, while the sunset does its work over the horizon. Water, soft drinks and local favourites are included throughout, so there is nothing to order and nothing extra to pay - just a warm dinner in one of the best seats on the Adriatic.
An Evening for Couples, Families and Groups
A private sunset dolphin tour suits almost any group looking for a memorable evening: couples marking a special occasion, families who want a gentle end to a beach day, and groups of friends after something more relaxed than a night out. The pace is easy, the mood is calm, and because the boat is private, the whole evening bends around your group.
Perfect Light for Photos
Golden hour on the water is a gift for photographers of every level. Between the low sun, the silhouetted islands and the possibility of a dolphin breaking the surface, there is no shortage of things to capture. A GoPro is on board and the footage from your evening is included, so you can put the phone down and simply be present while the trip is recorded for you.
Why an Evening Cruise Beats the Midday Heat
Midday tours can mean strong sun, busy bays and hazy light. The sunset slot avoids all three. By late afternoon the fierce heat has eased, most day boats are heading back to harbour, and the sea settles into the calm, mirror-like state that makes dolphin spotting easier and swimming a pleasure. For many guests, a private sunset dolphin tour is simply the most comfortable and most beautiful time to be on the water in Pula.
Best Time of Year for Dolphin Watching near Pula
Dolphins can appear along this coast throughout the season, but the warm months from late spring into early autumn, paired with calm evening conditions, tend to offer the best chances. The sheltered waters around the Brijuni Islands attract fish, and where there are fish there are often dolphins - which is why the evening cruise points that way.
What Is Included and What to Bring
The private charter includes the boat and licensed skipper for the full evening, fuel, a BBQ dinner, unlimited drinks, snorkeling gear, a SUP and GoPro footage. Bring a towel, swimwear, sunscreen and a light layer for the cooler ride back - the temperature drops pleasantly once the sun is down. Everything else is already on board.
Departure, Duration and Booking
The tour lasts around three hours and departs from the Pula waterfront (Riva), a short walk from the old town and the Roman Arena. Departure times shift with the season so the trip always lines up with the actual sunset. Booking includes free cancellation up to 24 hours before, and your skipper will help you reschedule if the weather turns.

It was a very nice boat trip with a good and family-like vibe. The food was also very good and more than enough for everyone. The swim stop was very fun. We could jump of the platform on top of the boat and also had amazing views. Greetings from Belgium!

Was a super nice experience! We went sailing and snorkelling in beautiful spots where there were hardly any other people, which made it feel really special. There were only six of us on the boat, making it perfect if you’re looking for a more intimate and relaxed sailing experience. The organisers were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and made sure everyone had a great time. The whole trip felt very personal, and we never felt rushed. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Pula and Fažana who wants to escape the crowds and enjoy a memorable day on the water!
