One of those places where you wish Google allowed you to give 6 stars! The Istrian Olive Oil Museum is much more than just a museum. You can choose between three different experiences — Green, Gold and Platinum — each offering a different type of olive oil tasting. I had a fantastic experience with Monica, who is extremely knowledgeable and clearly passionate about olive oil (To make the experience even more memorable, after the whole visit of the museum I found out that Monica and I actually share the same birthday!) She explained everything in a very approachable way and made the tasting genuinely interesting and funny, even if you don’t know much about olive oil beforehand. The museum itself takes you through the history of olive oil production in Istria, from harvesting and traditional production methods to its importance in the region. It’s really interesting to see how deeply olive oil is connected to local history and culture. And don’t skip the shop at the end! There is a great selection of local Croatian and Istrian products, making it a perfect place to pick up something special to take home. Absolutely worth visiting in Pula. Great museum, excellent tasting and a genuinely memorable experience.

We went to Pula for an Extreme Day Trip on a Saturday and booked in a gold tasting experience. Turned up and was greeted by name straight away, taken through to the tasting experience straight away with 1 other couple. Lovely, intimate and informative session that we really enjoyed! Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for something a bit different on a trip. Bought a small bottle of our favourite oil in the shop as we left :)

Book a Gold tasting experience that was lovely, and ended up bringing a bottle of istriana olive oil home as well as local honey. A very fun and informative museum about the history of olive oil with a tasting experience. I'll never look at olive oil the same again!

Very interesting content about the tipical product of Istria from the acient times. Giving a compact but deep, professional impression about the history and technology of the oil. The crew is very nice, passionate about their job. We enjoyed the oil tasting, it was eye-opening, highly recommended if you are an olive oil lover. Grateful for the experience.
