Dolphin Watching Pula - Small-Group Sunset Sailing with Drinks
Dolphin watching in Pula is at its best in the evening, when the sea calms and the light turns gold - and you do not need to book a whole boat to enjoy it. This small-group sunset sail takes no more than six guests out toward the Brijuni Islands to look for dolphins, swim in a quiet bay and watch the sun go down, all at a friendly, per-person price.
A Small-Group Sunset Sail from Pula
Unlike the big 40-seat cruise boats, this is a genuinely small group - a maximum of six guests aboard an intimate sailboat. You share the evening with just a handful of other travellers, which keeps the boat calm and personal while still costing far less than a private charter. It is the sociable, affordable way to get out on the water at the loveliest time of day.
Dolphin Watching in the Golden Hour
The waters around the Brijuni archipelago are one of the better places near Pula to see wild dolphins, and the evening is when they most often appear. As the boat sails and drifts, everyone keeps watch for a fin rolling through the calm water. Sightings can never be guaranteed - these are wild animals - but the quiet dusk conditions give you a real chance, and the search along a golden coast is a pleasure in itself.
An Evening Swim and SUP
On the way the skipper anchors in a sheltered bay for a swim in the warm evening sea. A stand-up paddleboard is on board if you would like to explore the shoreline, or you can simply float and watch the sky change colour. Swimming as the sun drops, away from the daytime crowds, is one of the simple joys of an Istrian summer evening.
Drinks and Sunset Views
Back on board, drinks are included as you settle in for the sunset. The mood is relaxed and social - a small group of like-minded travellers, cold drinks in hand, and the islands glowing in the low sun. It is an easy, unpretentious evening, and one of the best-value ways to experience the Adriatic at golden hour.
Who This Small-Group Tour Is For
This trip suits couples, solo travellers and small groups of friends who want a beautiful evening on the water without the cost of a private boat. If you like meeting other travellers and do not mind sharing the boat with a few others, the small-group sunset sail is a perfect fit. Prefer complete privacy? Ask about our private sunset sailing instead.
What Is Included and What to Bring
The tour includes the sailboat and licensed skipper for the evening, fuel, drinks, a SUP and snorkeling gear. Bring a towel, swimwear, sunscreen and a light layer for once the sun is down - everything else is already on board.
Departure, Duration and Booking
The tour lasts around three hours and departs from the Pula waterfront (Riva), a short walk from the old town and the Arena. Booking is per person and includes free cancellation up to 24 hours before, with help to reschedule if the weather turns.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many people are on the boat?
A maximum of six guests. It is a small-group tour, so you share the boat with only a few other travellers - never a big crowd.
Will we definitely see dolphins?
No - dolphins are wild, so sightings can never be promised. The evening waters near Brijuni are among the more reliable spots near Pula, and the calm dusk conditions give you a genuine chance.
How much does it cost?
Pricing is per person, which makes this one of the best-value sunset tours in Pula compared with chartering a whole private boat.
Is there time to swim?
Yes, the skipper anchors in a calm bay for an evening swim, and a SUP is on board if you would like to use it.
How long is the tour?
About three hours, with the departure time changing through the season so it always lines up with sunset.
Can I book the whole boat privately instead?
Yes - if you would prefer complete privacy, ask about our private sunset sailing tour for your group alone.
What is the cancellation policy?
Free cancellation up to 24 hours before departure, with help to move to another evening if poor weather is forecast.

It was a very nice boat trip with a good and family-like vibe. The food was also very good and more than enough for everyone. The swim stop was very fun. We could jump of the platform on top of the boat and also had amazing views. Greetings from Belgium!

Was a super nice experience! We went sailing and snorkelling in beautiful spots where there were hardly any other people, which made it feel really special. There were only six of us on the boat, making it perfect if you’re looking for a more intimate and relaxed sailing experience. The organisers were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and made sure everyone had a great time. The whole trip felt very personal, and we never felt rushed. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Pula and Fažana who wants to escape the crowds and enjoy a memorable day on the water!

The organizer of the program is a very friendly and helpful guy, who's given us all information about the tour and how to approach the boat. On the tour we've got a welcome like when you come home to your family. Peaceful, calming, fun experience. It's not a luxury trip, it's a tour with good your friends.
